Offline Activation Process
The Offline Activation process will allow you to activate a software application protected by software_DNA on a computer that does not have a connection to the Internet.
| Step 1 : Uploading the ".LIC" file | |
The ".LIC" file was created on the unconnected computer where the software was installed. This file must be uploaded to the DNA Server from another computer connected to the Internet. See below on how to create the ".LIC" file. |
| Step 2 : Entering Activation Information | |
| Step 3 : Downloading the License (CDM) file | |
If the Activation or Re-activation was sucessful, you will be able to download the new License (CDM) file to the connected computer. Once downloaded, you will need to transfer this License(CDM) file to the unconnected computer and store it in the software application’s directory |
| Step 4 : Run the software | |
With the valid License(CDM) file stored on the unconnected computer, the software will now run. |

Creating the ’.LIC’ file
The .LIC file is created on the unconnected computer. The file can be created in different ways depending on the implementation chosen by the author/developer of the software. The following are typical examples of how the .LIC file can be created:
Automatically during the Activation process if there is no connection to the Internet. Once the Activation or Evaluation Code is entered when requested, the .LIC file is created and stored in the software application’s main directory.
Please consult with the author/developer for exact instructions.
