Our Short History

softWORKZ Innovation Inc. was founded in 2002 following the realization of the scope of software piracy and the inability of software developers to properly secure the use of their software.

Now in its 5th generation, software_DNA is an advanced licensing solution with many features, including integration with 3rd party eCommerce providers, multiple licensing models, flexible and custom integration, real time, random activation code generation, and much more.

Our Technical Support Commitment

Our dedicated Technical Support team is available 24/7 to help you during the implementation of software_DNA and throughout the life of your products

The Support Team is only an email away, and will answer all your questions, simple or complex, and help you in recommending solutions to any of your licensing needs.

Our Development Commitment

Activation, Licensing and Protection requirements are continously evolving.

If you have requirements that we do not yet support, let us know. We are there to help. And we will be honest about what we can do and cannot do.

CONTINUOUS TESTING is done on all aspects of our solution, from testing across all the different and new flavours of supported OS's, as well as across the multitude of eCommerce integrations that we support.

But if we have missed something, let us know immediately and the Team will tackle the issues to the ground with you.

24/7 Availability of software_DNA

We take AVAILABILITY seriously - we have three(3) distinct synchronized Server Clusters that we own, located in three(3) distinct geographical locations, with secure server hosting providers.

software_DNA Availability over 24 months: 99.96%

But what happens if the worst happens ?

If the main Server Cluster is unavailable, the standby Server Cluster will be called in to take over the software_DNA service. Activations, validations, ... will continue. Access to the DNA Control Panel would be interrupted during the transition.

Our software_DNA solution is designed to let activated software execute even if the Internet and/or our DNA Servers are temporarily unavailable. Unavailability of our DNA Servers impacts only new activations and access to the DNA Control Panel, so even in the worst case scenario, your activated users would not be impacted.

Our Privacy Commitment

We collect personal information from our clients stored in the client accounts on our servers. Personal information is never shared with 3rd parties. We use the contact information on file to contact our clients for important software updates, security issues and occasional newsletters about our services. These newsletters include an 'unsubscribe' opt out option.

softWORKZ uses the Information you provide to operate the software_DNA Service. Authorized softWORKZ customer service representatives may access this information, upon your request, to assist you in using the software_DNA Service.

Except as otherwise stated below, information you provide to softWORKZ will not be shared outside of softWORKZ and its controlled subsidiaries without your permission.

softWORKZ will not disclose your personal information, without notice, unless if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on softWORKZ; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of softWORKZ or the software_DNA Service; and, (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of softWORKZ, its web sites, or the public. We use your credit card information only for billing purposes when applicable.

Some configuration options are stored on our server so that those settings are available when you sign in from a different computer or device. Certain information about your computer hardware and software is automatically collected by the software_DNA Service. This information may include: your IP address, browser type, and operating system. This information is used by softWORKZ for security and control purposes.

No personal information or information about end users is transferred. There is a one-way hash* of some machine configuration data, their chosen password, computer name and the optional email address sent to the server. The software application using the software_DNA activation system may have an optional registration page. If filled out, softWORKZ receives none of that information. If none of the optional information is provided (email address and registration information) then no personal information will be transferred. We suggest that no important personal passwords be used for the activation password, or a password that personally identifies the end user. The optional password is used for password retrieval. We never email the end users nor share this information with 3rd parties.

*One-way Hash: Codes that identify parts of the computer are put through a special function (called a 'one way hash') that turns the codes into one code number that is unique to the end user's computer but cannot be deciphered (or reverse engineered) to determine what those components are. Only this hash value is sent to the activation server and not the details on the computer parts.

softWORKZ strictly protects the security of the personal information you provide. Information we collect is stored in password-controlled servers with limited access, and we carefully protect this information from loss or misuse, and from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. When sensitive information (such as a credit card number) is transmitted over the Internet, it is protected through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol.

Sensitive information such as credit card information is stored in encrypted form on our servers and not accessible to softWORKZ employees except one selected officer of the company.
