Enabling User Authentication is highly recommended but in some situations and
for some applications, you may want to disable User Authentication and the need for a
License Code Password knowing
the software application is still "locked" to a computer. Before a User can re-install the application on a new computer,
the User must remember to De-Activate the License on the current computer, or request your assistance to reset the
License from the DNA Control Panel.
Most of the software_DNA Licensing features and options
are fully supported when User Authentication is disabled, but with the following constraints:
Supported Activation Methods
Custom and StreamLined Activation methods support the No User Authentication scenario.
The TurnKey Activation method does NOT support the No User Authentication scenario.
To disable User Authentication for a Product, view the Product Configuration and
edit () the License Settings for this product.
The No User Authentication scenario is implemented using existing API
calls and activation process flows. Consult the Developer Guide for details on process flow and exact API call syntax.
The key change is using a <derived_password> in all the API
calls that require a License Password.
The <derived_password> can be any 1-16 character string :
- a Default password, hard-coded in your App and which will be used for all
License Activation codes for this product.
- a Hash string that is derived from a unique and persistent identifier, for example, the License Activation Code itself.
The License is always locked to the computer, with any
password and continues to be secure against piracy.

To disable a License Code, we recommended the use of the
Revoke / Ban option.
