DNA_Query() API

DNA_Query(Product_Key, Activation_Code)

Parameters Description
<Product_Key>

The <Product_Key> of your DNA Product.

The <Product_Key> is emailed to you when you create a Product in the DNA Control Panel and is available under Product Configuration in the DNA Product Control Panel.
<Activation_code>

The License Code to activate, provided by the User

Use the DNA_Query API Call to get the status of the License Code provided by the User, and to determine the license type of the License Code and if it needs to be Activated or Re-Activated.

Results from DNA_Query API Call:

errNo = 8 (ERR_ACTIVATION_EXPECTED)

This is the initial activation of the following license types:

  • a Single-User / Multi-Computer license with the "Roll-Over Re-Activation
errNo = 9 (ERR_REACTIVATION_EXPECTED)

This is the activation of an additional computer or re-activation of a computer for the following license types:

  • a Single-User / Multi-Computer license with the "Roll-Over Re-Activation
errNo = 19 (ERR_ACTIVATION_EXPECTED_MU)

This is the initial activation of the following license types:

  • a Single-User / Multi-Computer license without the "Roll-Over Re-Activation
  • Multi-User License
  • Floating License
errNo = 20 (ERR_REACTIVATION_EXPECTED_MU)

This is the activation of an additional computer / seat or re-activation of a computer / seat for the following license types:

  • a Single-User / Multi-Computer license without the "Roll-Over Re-Activation
  • Multi-User License
  • Floating License

Based on the result of the DNA_Query code, additional information will be required from the User.
