Upgrading from Evaluation License to Full version

To allow your users to move from the Evaluation mode (i.e. using an Evaluation License Code) to the Normal or full functionality mode (i.e. using a License Activation Code) within your software, we recommend the following approach:

• Implement an Activate Now button or sub-menu in your software

• When selected:

  • Rename the existing .CDM License file which was created when the Evaluation License Code was activated at the <cdmPathName> location.

  • Execute your Activation Process and retrieve from the user, the License Activation Code, License Password, and optionaly, an Email address. Use either the TurnKey DNA_ProtectionOK() API or your own dialog boxes to capture the information followed by the DNA_Activate() API call

  • If the activation process was successful, then a new CDM License file will have been created on the user's computer and locked to this computer. You can now delete the old CDM License file associated with the Evaluation License Code.

  • If the activation process was unsuccessful, then restore the old CDM file so that the software continues to run in Evaluation Mode.
