Activation API V1 - Node Locking
Node Locking is an optional feature and typically used for Device
Applications, and can be used for SAAS Applications:
- with Node Locking
the DNA License is locked to a specific <MACHINE_ID> and can not be copied / used on a
different device
- without Node Locking
the DNA License represents an instance of the License and is uniquely identified by the Activation
DNA_Key’s.
the DNA License could theoretically be copied / used on another device, but only one copy can continue
to be used. On many devices, this is difficult to do for typical Users.
To enable Node Locking include the following parameters in the JSON request string for every API call:
The DEVICE_ID should be as follows:
- a string with a maximum of 32 alphanumeric characters (a-z,A-Z,0-9)
- uniquely identifies the device, such as
- a string of information that uniquely identifies the device (ex: the <COMPUTER_NAME>)
androidID for Android devices
The DNA Server will create the <MACHINE_ID> from a hash of the <DEVICE_ID>.
See our Code Samples for implementation examples.
