WEB_Activate() API

WEB_ACTIVATE_LOGIN

The License Activation Code for this DNA Product will be activated and assigned the License Code Password and the License Email (if provided), or re-activated if the DNA Product uses StreamLined Activation and the license has already been activated.

Three variants are supported for the WEB_ACTIVATE API:

WEB_ACTIVATE

Used for Device Apps where the Application is an executable/script on the device and optionally uses node-locking.

The Re-Activation Lockout algorithm is as follows:

  • For Single-User licenses, any re-activations will count against the Re-Activation Lockout
  • For Mult-User licenses, re-activations on the same device (i.e. <machineID>) will NOT count against the Re-Activation Lockout. Re-activations on new computers will be counted
WEB_ACTIVATE_SAAS

Used for WEB Apps accessed using a device browser. The Application itself resides on a web-server.

The re-activations on the same device browser will not be counted against the Re-Activation Lockout. Re-activations on new devices, or different browsers will be counted.
WEB_ACTIVATE_LOGIN

Used for WEB Apps tied to a device License. The Device license must already be activated for the Web APP activation to be accepted.

License Code Password, provided by:

  • If Product uses "User Authentication" option, then provided by the User
  • If Product does not use "User Authentication" option, then a hard-coded default Password used for all Licenses for this Product

Email address provided by the User (optional). With a License Code Email assigned, a "Lost Password" can be resent from the Application, or from the DNA Control Panel, or from the License Manager Portal.
